When you visit a new town you want the best of both worlds: touristy spots and local favorites. Savannah has too many of these spots to count, but we've found one that locals and visitors have both enjoyed for years. This hidden Georgia bar with great drinks and even better wall decor has the whimsical fun energy for locals and tourists alike.
Abe's on Lincoln is an out-of-the-box bar located in historic Savannah, Georgia that is sure to fulfill your fun night out needs. This place is considered a dive bar because of the size. It's just a neighborhood spot that locals love to visit.
While it might seem like a quiant place, it will actually rock your world with the ambiance and the classic drinks. Abe's told Narcity that the ceilings are only six feet tall and the bar area can only sit 20 people, so naturally it fills up fast every night.
What makes this spot more unique than the other 100 bars in the city is that it has one-of-a-kind napkin art of Abraham Lincoln hanging everywhere. This place is located on Lincoln Street so what'd you expect?
Before you even make it to the bar to get a drink, you'll have already stopped and looked at over a dozen masterpieces on the wall. They pretty much all have one thing in common: the iconic facial hair of good ole Abe.
All you have to do is ask your bartender for an extra napkin and a pen and you can start creating your own wall hanging. Don't forget to sign and date it so you can come back and find it.
The drinks here are inexpensive but strong as can be and that is what most of us look for in a bar. The bartenders sure know what they are doing so you might just have enough courage to draw your own unique Abe.
If you work up an appetite, you can order some food from the delicious 5 Spot restaurant that will deliver your food right to your barstool. Talk about some 5-star service.
Abe's opens at 4:00 p.m. and closes at 3:00 a.m. every day and is closed on Sundays.
