As a vegan or vegetarian, grabbing food on the go can prove to be challenging. If you've got the munchies past 8 p.m., your options are extremely limited. Times are slowly changing with some fast-food giants rolling out some seriously delicious vegan and vegetarian options. One KFC in Georgia now has vegan options, and it's the only one of its kind in the nation.
KFC is partnering with Beyond Meat to test some potential permanent vegan additions to the menu. You won't have an extensive product selection, but two choices are better than no choices at all. You can choose between nuggets and boneless wings.
Nuggets are available in six or 12-piece combo meals (which include a side and medium drink) for $6.49 and $8.49, or four-piece a la carte for $1.99.
Boneless wings are available in six or 12-piece options for $6 and $12, plus tax.
Beyond Meat is composed of soy protein, pea protein, rice flour, carrot fiber, yeast extract, vegetable oils, and seasonings. While it may not be an incredibly "healthier" option, it is cruelty-free.
If you're in the Atlanta-area, you'll definitely know which KFC is celebrating the launch. The entire building has changed from red and white to a vivacious green and white.
Any vegans, vegetarians, or anyone just plain curious about the new menu items should come soon, as they're expected to sell out. Reports are that cars are lined up around the building twice over.
Customers who survive the outrageous lines can expect free samples of the vegan product with the purchase of any KFC menu item.
