You might not know this, but the springtime is actually oyster season, meaning there's no better time to chow down on some oysters than from March to June. Fortunately, an oyster festival near Austin is taking place this spring, to give Texans the chance to see what the seafood dish is like in its prime. We can hardly contain our excitement!

Fredericksburg Oyster Festival falls on Friday, March 20 and goes until Saturday, March 21 this oyster season.

The event will take place at Bankersmith BBQ Shack from 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and they've truly thought of everything.

You'll have your choice of fresh gulf oysters, lobsters, raw and grilled oysters, lobster mac n' cheese, and lobster rolls.

So not only will there be mouthwatering oysters, but plenty of other seafood to choose from as well.

Now, what would a fest be without some delicious drinks to wash all of your food down with?

Cocktails will be your best friend, and Bankersmith will have a variety for guests to choose from. You can grab a non-alcoholic drink to enjoy as well.

There'll also be live music and a dance hall to jam out to the musical artists in.

Tickets are on sale now and you'll want to get them ASAP to ensure you get one of the 500 spots available.

A Friday GA pass is $7, whereas a Saturday GA pass is $12.

On either day you go, you can upgrade to VIP which includes all-you-can-eat oysters and free beverages.

VIP passes for Friday are listed at $42 and Saturday passes are currently listed at $47. For hours of endless oysters, other tasty dishes and drinks, grab one of those!

If you love oysters as much as we do, Austin is having a similar fest next month that you should definitely add to your list.

With all of these awesome events happening in the Lone Star State, you'll never have to stress about weekend plans again.
