Trips to Japan can be expensive and no matter how fun they sound, sometimes our budget just doesn't allow for it. Luckily, there's a paradise in Texas that'll give you all the Japan feels without putting a dent in your wallet. This paradise is none other than the Austin loved Japanese restaurant Domo Alley-Gato Tatsu-Ya, and it's way closer to you than Japan will ever be. The atmosphere and the food are to die for!
6th Street is already filled with tons of fun things to do, so Domo Alley-Gato Tatsu-Ya is basically the cherry on top. Thanks to their decor as soon as you walk in, you'll feel like you've been transported to another country. Siri, cue Lost In Japan by Shawn Mendes. There's plenty of delicious food to choose from, so good that leftovers will be out of the question.
Domo Alley-Gato Tatsu-Ya is open certain days of the week, so you'll definitely have to plan ahead of time. But with them only being closed Mondays and Tuesdays it shouldn't be too hard. They're open from 5 PM - 2 AM which means a night on 6th or even just an average evening in Austin will grant you more than enough time to enjoy yourself here.
Not only do they have an extensive menu with the best Japanese Cuisine, but they also have a delicious drink menu. Stray Cat Strut and Melon Ball Z are only some of the cleverly named and unique options. If you've ever been to Ramen Tatsu-Ya (the best ramen place in Austin) then you know you can count on these guys.
