Dracula would be proud.
Most of us have yet to travel to Eastern-Europe for any number of reasons, all of which, are truly tragic. Not only because of all of the sightseeing we're missing out on, but also, the food. Lucky for us, Austin's newest pastry food truck offers Transylvanian chimney cakes that will make you feel as though you've traveled to another country, specifically, a pastry paradise.
Dracula's Son is 503 East Cesar Chavez. It's one of the many food trucks apart of a park right across from the Austin Convention Center.in downtown Austin located at
The truck specializes in chimney cakes, also known as kürtőskalács in Hungary. These pastries are unlike anything else, made from dough that's clearly been spun, and filled with delicious ingredients.
You can choose from six different chimney cakes on the menu, the original, cinnamon, walnut, coconut, graham, and chocolate.
Each one ranges in price from $5 to $5.50, not bad for how big and filling they all are!
It's pretty easy to guess what each will taste like, but don't let that stop you from finding out yourself! You can stop by Dracula's Son from 12 to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
You're also able to add a spread to your pastry for less than a dollar to make it more of your own.
If you're not in the mood for a chimney cake (huh?) when you stop by, the food truck also offers milkshakes that come in multiple flavors as well as coffee, soda, and water.
You might need to order one of those anyways to wash down your delicious dessert!
