Denton Has A Hidden Vintage Speakeasy That You Need To Try To Find
Great drinks are behind this secret door.
Normally a speakeasy requires you to figure out some type of code or jump through hoops for a password but this one just requires you to know where you're going. Paschall Bar is the only speakeasy in Denton, Texas and all you need to know is where their hidden door is and to bring your I.D.
The speakeasy is decked out like in the coolest European decor. The bar is in one of the oldest buildings in Denton but definitely still stands as one of the coolest ones. Originally, the building was constructed in 1877 and was opened to the public in 1890, so this place is a long time hidden secret. The speakeasy bar is above another bar so you might miss it if you're not careful.
First, you have to find the hidden-in-plain-sight unmarked wooden door. Once you've done that, a bouncer will be on the other side to check your I.D. You will then walk up some very steep steps to another wooden door that hides the speakeasy from the world. This secret spot is such a treasure to find, you need to get searching right away!
The bar has tons of awesome drinks like lavender martinis, espresso martinis and over 20 imported liquors. It is said that the bar used to be a cigar club and to honor that, the bar has a special drink called the "Smoking Jacket." They also offer guests a chance to look at their small but very interesting library. You can also engage in a fancy game of chess.
Paschall Bar is open every day of the week from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and offers the absolute best view of Denton's famous courthouse.
Paschall Bar is located above Andy's bar at 122 N Locust St in Denton, Texas. For more information on the bar, you can visit their Facebook page here.
