If you're like Leslie Knope, you know the best meal is breakfast and the sweeter it is, the better. But sadly, pure sugar isn't the most well-rounded breakfast, there should be some compromise and it should at least get some healthiness in. There's a sweet Mexican cafe in Houston that combines sugary desserts with savory food and has a breakfast sandwich made with the most iconic bread.
Cielito Cafe is the cutest Mexican food brunch spot located in an old converted house in Montrose.
They have a lot of Mexican staples like breakfast tacos, Arroz con Leche, and Mexican hot chocolate. You can even get a hot bowl of Menudo on the weekends and agua frescas to wash it down.
However, their biggest draw is their Cielito sandwich which is a breakfast sandwich with a concha for the bun!
There have been many unique sandwich breads used in Houston before, everything from donut sandwiches, to waffle burgers, but using Mexican Sweet Bread as a bun is definitely one of the most mouthwatering sandwich creations we've heard of!
The inside of the Cielito Sandwich includes, eggs, cheese, and bacon, pretty standard breakfast sandwich ingredients. But they're made way more interesting because they're all layered together in between two pieces of sugar-coated Sweet Bread.
The authentic Mexican food cafe is open Tuesdays through Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., peak brunch hours.
The sweet treat is the perfect thing to get when you know you should be eating healthy but all that you want is dessert for breakfast.
Isn't that one of the perks of being an adult? Is if you want to have a sugar rush before 10 a.m. you totally can!
Cuisine: Mexican brunch

Why You Need To Go: The breakfast sandwich is like having dessert for breakfast but don't worry, it's "healthy" because eggs and meat are included.
