It's finally happening, people. Midtown is officially welcoming Social Beer Garden HTX to the block on June 7. True to Midtown-fashion, the new garden radiates retro vibes while still giving you a view of that downtown skyline you can't seem to take your eyes off of (or escape).
The garden has that H-town appeal, with plenty of lounge areas and a tarp that comes from the Texans practice facility (just a fun fact that is really only fun to Texans). Picnic tables, comfy chairs, murals, and games fill the area that is lined in food trucks. The food trucks rotate for diversity, some include Asian, BBQ, and Tex-Mex (yes!).
If you just want a new wall to pose in front of, no one can judge you after they see these murals. Designed by local artist Donkeeboy, they add that Midtown-look that everyone adores.
Oh, and there's also hammocks. What's a Houstonian beer garden without hammocks? We're too spoiled to know a world like that.
Away from the garden, Social Beer Garden HTX has a two-story bar dressed in tons of chic decor that will have you mimicking Joanna Gaines all night. Upstairs, you can find arcade games, dartboards, video games, billiard tables, and a patio. You can even find TVs everywhere, so you never have to worry about missing a game or fight.
Downstairs, a towering tap wall, 40 beers on tap to choose from, and even some antique beer cans from the 50s. The menu features some local favorites like Saint Arnold, 8th Wonder, Eureka Heights, 11 Below, and Buffalo Bayou. All food can be found at rotating food trucks on the patio. Happy hour lasts until 7 pm on Monday through Friday.
The bar isn't exclusive to the big kids either. If that excites you, bring your kiddo! If that disappoints you, don't let that ruin it, the bar is all yours after 9 pm. Bring your dog all day though, please.
You can enjoy all things groovy at the Social Beer Garden HTX on June 7 (the bar had a soft-opening this May) at 3101 San Jacinto St.
