In the words of Buddy The Elf, sometimes it’s just nice to meet another human that shares an affinity for elf culture. And this holiday season, we're determined to do everything in our power to cultivate that shared affinity. This November, Houston is getting a brand-new Christmas pop-up bar with boozy hot cocoa, karaoke, ugly sweater contests, and Santa-meet ups at Santa's Tavern.
From Friday, Nov. 15 to Dec. 31, this immersive pop-up bar will be loaded with picture-perfect moments and backdrops and holiday drinks galore.
Located at Porch Swing Pub, there's promises of a massive, shareable holiday drink, and lots of Christmasy drinks less than $11. You can get drinks like the "Sleigh All Day" with Captain Morgan Gingerbread Rum and Holiday Punch, and the Naughty or Spiked Rumple Minze & Hot Cocoa.
And because the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to cheer, every Thursday night is karaoke night. So prepare all your off-key renditions of All I Want For Christmas Is You and Santa Baby.
Ugly sweater contests go down every Saturday, and the ugliest one will receive free entry and some public shaming on social media. Plus, you can party with Santa every Sunday. But remember, he's always watching to see if you're naughty or nice!
Online, you can get General Admission tickets for $20, or you can get Early Bird tickets for the same price plus a drink. Kids tickets are $10 and only allowed before 6 p.m. And just like any good party, pets are allowed (patio only) with the purchase of a $10 ticket.
Each ticket gets you access to the holiday photo opts, to Santa's Tavern indoors, and Santa's Tavern Ski Resort outdoors.
All tickets purchased are specific to the 3-hour time slot you select. Half Priced entry is available Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
*The winter wonderland bar is having a press-only night on Thursday, November 14, but after that, it's open to everyone to enjoy for the whole Christmas season from Friday, November 15 to December 31.
Address: 69 Heights Blvd, Houston, TX 77007
Why you need to go: For massive, shareable holiday drinks, karaoke nights, ugly sweater contests, and pretending Santa is still real.
