Starting to think Katy should've been named Sugar Land instead—or at least renamed to...Kandy Land? Whatever, all I'm saying is they get all the mouth-watering desserts like french pastries, crepe cones, and all the most delicious bakeries. And now, perhaps the best of them all—Somisomi Soft Serve and Taiyaki that just opened.

And more good news—Sugar Land isn't missing another opportunity to live up to their name. Another location is set to open in the Sugar Land in the next few months, so stay tuned for that!

For now, head to the Somisomi in Katy, and try some delicious ice cream. At Somisomi you get to customize your own "Ah-Boong," which is the Korean dessert and tradition where a fish-shaped cone holds the ice cream.

First, you'll pick from one of 11 creams like black sesame, matcha, ube, banana, or milk. Next, you'll pick your Nutella, custard, red bean, or taro for the filling in your Gold Fish-shaped waffle cone. And finally, you'll load as many toppings as you want on top—go crazy, it's unlimited.

They have several different swirl combinations and Taiytaki flavors available too.

Here are the flavors you can get for Taiytaki:

  • Nutella
  • Custard
  • Red Bean
  • Taro
  • Cheddar (is this...a giant goldfish?)
  • Red Bean and Cream Cheese

From 12 pm to 11 pm, come try some unique Somisomi and snap a pic while you're at it to show how far you took the whole unlimited-toppings thing.

There's also whisper of a Frisco location, so Dallas peeps—you might just get lucky too. For now, don't be too jealous over our goldfish-attacked soft serve.
