Eating a tasty tamale is a tradition Texans look forward to each and every year. Chances are you won't stop at just one, and a festival where indulging in tamales is completely normal is coming to Houston for you to do just that. Get ready to mark your calendars, because Houston's Tamale Festival is coming this December and it's better than ever this year.
On Saturday, December 7 from 12 to 9 p.m., Navigation Esplanade in Houston is transforming into a place where all are welcome to enjoy as many tamales as they'd like. They're the perfect meal to enjoy in Texas' "cold" weather, and paired with hot chocolate, we can't imagine a better combination. You'll have all day to come out and enjoy the festivities since there'll be more than just tamales, though we wouldn't complain if there wasn't.
Live music, shows, food, and drink are all things you can expect to enjoy at one of the top 10 rated fests in the entire country. That's right, they've gotten major recognition and this is only their 9th year!
Local tamale experts will be providing us with their most delicious recipes, so coming hungry is definitely a requirement. They're even having a pre-sale special for tickets to make planning in advance totally worth it.
Tickets range from $5 to $75 depending on if you want GA or the VIP experience. VIP comes with many perks, so be sure to check them out before you go the cheapest route. There's nothing wrong with saving money, but when it comes to this tamale festival, the only thing you should be saving is your appetite.
