Edmonton Bakery Famous For Epic Hogwarts Gingerbread House Is Opening Second Location

Get ready, Edmonton. You will no longer have to travel far and wide for the delicious baked goods you know and love. According to the Duchess Bake Shop, a second location is opening up in Edmonton this fall and we could not be more excited.

If you haven't had the opportunity to visit the Duchess Bake Shop you are seriously missing out. This gem is one of the cities most recognized bakeshops and for good reason.

As many of you may know, this shop is the legendary establishment that brought us a giant Hogwarts castle made entirely out of gingerbread houses. This magical display really put the bakery on the map but now they are back with bigger news!

So here’s what we know about the new location: later this fall, the bakery will be opening up a second location in the Ritchie Market. Called Little Duchess, this new location will be a “petite” version of the Westmount location. But don’t worry! Just because it’s small doesn't mean it won't be serving you up all your favourites.

“We are bursting with excitement to serve the southside and join the vibrant community of Ritchie,” says co-owner Giselle Courteau, alongside partners Garner Beggs and Jake Pelletier.

“This will be a cute, smaller version of ourselves, and we can’t wait to be part of Ritchie’s exciting food scene alongside our friends at Biera, Blind Enthusiasm, Transcend Coffee and Acme Meats.”

The bakeries greatest hits including the famous macarons, Duke chocolate cake, cookies, and pies from a condensed menu will be available.

A curated selection of Duchess Provisions will also be available at the petite location. This will include Valrhona chocolate, vanilla, flours and jars of their salted caramel.

Little Duchess will open exactly 10 years after Duchess Bake Shop. According to their Facebook page, the OG location opened up in October 2009.

Since their wild success, the bakeshop produces 1,500 macarons a day! It only makes sense to open a second location. Until the new space opens, be sure to visit the bustling location at 124th Street. The new location will be at the Ritchie Market at 9570 76 Ave NW, Edmonton.
