You Can Get Crispy Vegan Wings & Fried Chicken At This New Edmonton Spot

This vegan twist on southern comfort food is a must try.

If you want to try a vegan take on comfort food, now you can in YEG. Seitans Disciples is the new spot to get vegan fried chicken in Edmonton and it specializes in mouthwatering meatless dishes. From Philly cheese po'boys to chicken wings, this place is all about hearty classics with a twist.

Plant-based eating has become one of the biggest food trends of the year. Places like A&W have even rolled out meatless chicken nuggets, which already seem to be a hit in Canada.

New to Edmonton's vegan scene is Seitans Disciples. This vegan fried “chickun” joint starts serving at 5 p.m. from Wednesday to Saturday at Peche Cafe.

You can also find Seitans on Uber Eats and Skip the Dishes, or pick your food up from Peche Cafe's rear doors.

Some of the must-try menu items include their fried box. The box comes with three large pieces of fried chickun, their Philly cheese Po Boy, or their classic bacun chickun burger.

Seitans does burgers, sandwiches, plant-based poutine and more. Items on the menu range from $9 to $13.

They also carry a bunch of great sides including house tater tots, chilli, cheese fries, and potato salad. These items range from $5 to $9.

One of the best things about this place is that it is open late. Seitans' kitchen stays running until 11 p.m., so you can get your late-night food fix.

On Saturdays, it doesn't close until midnight. Post-bar night snack, anyone?

Seitans is one of several great plant-based joints in YEG. This bucket list of vegan places in Edmonton will come in handy if you want to try them all.

If you are in the mood for real meat, this new diner just opened up in the city too. Known for its gourmet burgers and tall milkshakes, Royale is one for the books.
