Elon Musk Corrects Grimes As She Misspells An Aircraft Their Son Was Named After

Setting the record straight! Elon Musk and Grimes recently welcomed their first child together into the world, and to little surprise, the baby was given an incredibly unique name. While she was offering an explanation to fans yesterday, the Canadian singer made a mistake that her boyfriend was quick to correct.
Not long after Musk shared the news that Grimes and their baby boy were happy and healthy, Twitter began speculating about what the new arrival’s name could possibly be. The Tesla CEO replied to a fan saying, "X Æ A-12 Musk", which received plenty of mixed reactions from fans.
Shortly after, Grimes confirmed that their baby is named X Æ A-12, and even offered an in-depth explanation via social media.
"•X, the unknown variable•Æ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence) •A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent + (A=Archangel, my favorite song) (metal rat)," the new mother tweeted.
As it turns out, the 32-year-old made a mistake in her statement, which Musk was quick to correct.
“SR-71, but yes,” the SpaceX CEO wrote, referring to the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird.
Grimes also acknowledged her mistake, tweeting, “I am recovering from surgery and barely alive so may my typos b forgiven but, damnit. That was meant to be profound.”
The Vancouver native broke the internet earlier this year with her pregnancy announcement. It was initially unclear whether her boyfriend of two years was the father or not, but in a March interview with Rolling Stone, Grimes confirmed that she and Musk were expecting.
The Canadian duo has had an atypical relationship over the years, and they reportedly first met over Twitter in 2018 after bonding over a joke about an artificial intelligence experiment.
X Æ A-12 is Grimes’ first child, although Musk shares six sons with his ex-wife, Justine Wilson.
