San Diego is a beautiful city. Wandering in the Gaslamp Quarter, Balboa Park and Coronado Island truly makes you appreciate how magnificent this southern California city is. As of this summer, it'll be way more affordable to get here from YEG. Cheap flights from Edmonton to San Diego will soon be available through Swoop.

Swoop is known for having incredibly cheap flights. The company currently flies to a number of areas including nine places in Canada, six destinations in the U.S. and five tropical locations in Mexico and the Caribbean.

The list just got a little longer as Swoop recently announced an expanded 2020 summer schedule.

According to Swoop, their newest route starting in April 2020 will provide service to two new domestic cities - Victoria and Kamloops.

According to an email from Swoop to Narcity, flights to San Diego from Edmonton will be just $159, all fees included. Return flights from San Diego back to Edmonton will be USD$119.

Along with the additional destinations, Swoop has announced that it is increasing its weekly service in many cities. This will include Hamilton to Winnipeg, Edmonton to Abbotsford, and Abbotsford to Winnipeg.

This is wonderful news for anyone who is travelling for work or for those of us that are just looking for a quick and easy getaway.

Starting in April this coming up year, Edmonton will see more Swoop flights to the following cities:

  • Edmonton-Kamloops up to four times weekly

  • Edmonton-San Diego up to three times weekly

  • Edmonton-Abbotsford from 16 times weekly, to 24 times weekly

Thanks to the new summer schedule, Swoop’s frequency increased to 328 low-cost flights per week.

Swoop's base fare starts with just the seating, which means that travellers have the power to add the things they want instead of having to pay for them upfront.

If San Diego isn’t your thing, no worries. There are always cheap flight deals going. On all you have to do is look.

Just one month ago, there were last minute flight deals from Edmonton to Mexico that were only $282 round trip. There were also flight deals from our city to Cancun for just $313 roundtrip.

Who said flying has to be expensive? It's time to start booking your time off work. Adventure awaits!

There are stories everywhere. If you spot a newsworthy event in your city, send us a message, photo, or video @NarcityCanada on Twitter and Instagram.
