As streaming services take the world by storm, movie stores are becoming a relic of the past. While we will always remember those fun childhood trips to Blockbuster, sadly, the times are changing. One of B.C.'s last and most beloved movie rental stores, Leo's Videos, is closing. As the shop prepares to shut its doors for good, over 26,000 movies are up for grabs at the Leo's Videos movie sale in Kelowna.\nBlockbuster went out of business in Canada back in 2011. It was a sad day for all of us, but streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney + have taken its place.\nOne of the last independently run video rental stores in B.C. is about to follow in Blockbuster's footsteps. Leo's Videos is closing down after 15 years in business and putting its entire inventory on sale.\nThe deals will be staring this weekend and the markdowns will be increased each month leading up to the final closing date. However, you might want to go sooner rather than later because all of the most popular movies will likely get snatched up fast.\nView this post on Instagram [ 🔝 Sabías que la cadena de #blockbuster abrió sus puerta oficialmente un 19 de Octubre de 1985 en Dallas Texas con un inventario de 8000 mil cintas VHS y 2000 mil cintas BETA ] Vaya recuerdos !!! 📼 #80s #80smovie #80smovies #80sclassic • • • • #film #films #cine #cinema #cinemalover #movie #movies #moviestar #moviescene #moviescenes #lovemovie #lovemovies #peliculasdecorazon 🎬 . Despite all the odds being stacked up against him, he was doing well for quite some time.\nAs the shop prepares to close down, Bartel is selling off the majority of his stock which contains 26,000 movies. The store will be shut down by January. Much like the Forever 21's liquidation sale, the deals are huge.\nStarting November 15, the sale will begin with a 20% off “purchasing party.” The next day, the sale will continue with normal prices.\nOn November 29, the sale will be 10% off with the sale price increasing by 10% every week until January 20. From January 10 until the final day of business, all remaining stock will be 70% off.\nBartel, an obvious movie lover, is doing it this way to allow fellow lovers and collectors the time to find rare gems for a great price.\nIt’s the end of an era but it is one we will never forget. Especially when Blockbuster’s dead Twitter account is still somehow thriving.\nThere are stories everywhere.
