View this post on Instagram So my feed seems to pretty much skip the whole 6 weeks I was back in the UK and now I’m back in Cancun 👀 (whoops) 🇲🇽 . . Back in September when I first got to Mexico my tequila decisions led to me breaking my phone.. the phone itself wasn’t that important to me but all the photos from my 4 months of travelling (that weren’t at all backed up), that’s what was important 🤦🏼♀️ I went to an Apple store in Cancun and they told me the phone was irreparable so I was completely devastated. I bought myself a cheap temporary iPhone 5 from Mobo purely to keep in contact with people but it was completely useless for photos. With such a smaller devise and lack of camera quality I just stopped taking photos.. luckily at this point I only had 2 weeks of my travels left before heading back to the UK- And my sister is an even happier snapper that me 🤷🏼♀️ So footage wise we were fine 🤳🏼 Once I was home I took my iPhone 7 to an Apple Store where I had higher hopes being in the UK, but once again they told me the phone was a goner. (They basically just wanted me to buy another iPhone 🙄) But when I explained I don’t care about my phone, just the footage mattered, they recommended a company called @ontrackuk to me, a data recovery company but not a phone repair. So they’d tear apart my phone 📱 take out the memory part of it (that is if it’s wasn’t as damaged as the rest of it) then put all the data onto a hard drive. I was sold. I sent my phone off and they quoted me £360 just for my pictures- My brain: FUUUCK. My regret: WELL that’s what you get for not backing up your photos Lyd. My perspective: You can’t put a price on the memories, lesson learnt.
