Some crazes are easier to accept than others, and honestly we're not 100% sure about this one.
France, which has often been hailed as one of the wine capitals of the world, has been swept by a blue wine craze, but you don't have to go all the way around the world to get this wild beverage. Blue wine is sold right here in Canada.
Naked Grape, a local Canadian wine from Ontario, has their very own blue wine, or as they call it Blusé, which they introduced at the beginning of June.
Blue wine is really popular in France right now, but even here at home Naked Grape Blue is quickly becoming the Canadian drink of the summer!
People are living their best blue lives right now, sharing photos of their blue themed parties, blue wine slushies, and even some of their pets seem to be getting in on the Blusé trend.
In terms of reviews, the praise from Canadians has been overwhelmingly positive. While the wine has a solid 3.9 out of 5 stars out of 60 ratings on BC Liquor Store's website, a Wine Rack manager reviewed the wine saying it tasted like a freezie and paired perfectly with a warm summer day and also went well with sushi.
On the flip side of the spectrum, some have described the blue wine as an acquired taste. One reviewer even describing Naked Grape Blue as tasting like mouthwash.
The blue wine craze is also getting traction around the world. A Spain-based wine called Gik is now available in the US and Canadians are hoping we could find some here up north soon too.
