It’s officially November and it’s getting chilly out there. If you’re in the market for an inviting place to hang out, we’ve got good news. Beloved Calgary bar, Home and Away, has officially announced their reopening in a new location and we could not be more excited. After shutting down in June 2019, there have been mumbles of a re-opening and speculation regarding when and where. Thankfully, our questions have been answered and Calgary's Home and Away re-opening will be on November 21 for their grand re-opening weekend at their new location at 1207 1 St. SW. Home and Away was a buzzing sports and entertainment bar located on Calgary’s 17 Avenue that featured arcade games like Skee-Ball and basketball and always had sports on the TV. Back in June of this year, the bar announced that they’d be closing their doors. According to the Calgary Herald, the closure was due to the ongoing construction on 17 Avenue and the location’s property taxes. The bar’s staff told the Calgary Herald that “this isn’t goodbye, this is see ya later,” indicating an eventual reopening down the line. Thankfully, that was not just a rumour and we’ve now got confirmation that the bar will be reopening for Calgarians to enjoy once more.
