No matter where you go, there will be cute cafes around. However, if these cute cafes are just a short drive from Ottawa, why wouldn't you take a trip? There's a reason why cafes have the great reputation that they do–they're relaxing, they're all unique, and they're great spots to catch up with your BFFs.

Don't get me wrong, of course the adorable cafes in Ottawa are great. However, maybe you've gone to all of them and need a change or you actually want to get out of Ottawa for once. 1. Café British // 79 Rue Principale

This cafe used to be the site of the Provincial Bank of Canada, which gives it a lot of history. Cafe British is open late, and you can sing your heart out at the open mic night. They offer board games as well as game nights every once and a while. If you're not a coffee or tea drinker, they also offer alcoholic beverages.

2. Café Les Saisons Coffee // 232 Chemin Old Chelsea

This cafe is absolutely adorable and is open all year round. They offer a wide variety of coffees, teas, and smoothies as well as light meals that are delicious. Did I mention how cute this place is?

3. Edgar // 60 Rue Bégin

Edgar is a cafe that only has 11 seats. Yes, 11. They serve the typical cafe food, however, it's freshly made every morning and they also serve brunch on the weekends. Of course, make sure you get there early because those 11 seats fill up quick!

4. Saint-Eloi Café Bistro // 100 Rue Atawe

I recommend going to this cafe for brunch. They have endless options, which are very cheap but very delicious. They also offer gluten-free options, if that applies to you. Of course, they are open for lunch and dinner but who doesn't live for brunch?

5. Café Cognac // 230 Rue Montcalm

Cafe Cognac is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, their cappuccinos are what you should really go for (plus the food, but you know). As you can see from the picture above, this cappuccino is everything you'd want in a coffee and more. So go for the coffee, and stay for the great food.

6. Café Cinq Sens // 417 Boul Alexandre-Taché

This cafe has delicious options when it comes to food. It's a great place to catch up with your BFFs over a light, but hearty meal. If you're catching up with your BFF because you just went through a breakup, they have amazing desserts that will make both of you feel better instantly.

7. Moca Loca Café Co // Multiple Locations

Moca Loca Cafe Co has multiple locations around Gatineau, and they're all a completely different vibe. However, the one thing they have in common is their delicious coffee/drinks. I'd truly recommend the white coconut hot chocolate–how amazing does that sound?

8. Café Mulligan // 149 Rue Principale

At Cafe Mulligan, they offer a small variety of food but a large variety of drinks. Their food items are super healthy and can be ordered on gluten-free bread as well. I'd recommend getting the freshly made soup and the London Fog. If you've never had a London Fog before, you're welcome.
