This New Ottawa Italian Restaurant Is The Perfect Spot For Pizza & Cocktails
It'll steal a pizza your heart!
When it comes to romantic dinner date nights, you can almost never go wrong with Italian food. And this new Ottawa restaurant is no exception. In fact, we’re pretty sure this place will steal a pizza your heart. So, if you’re looking for a new date spot with a classic romantic vibe, then you need to check out Prova Ottawa ASAP.
Located just steps away from the LRT on Lyon Street, this adorable spot is super easy to get to even if you don’t drive.
The restaurant specializes in Italian-inspired small plates, artisanal pizzas, paninis, cocktails, desserts, and more.
And, honestly, it looks mega drool-worthy.
Almost as appealing as the food itself is the gorgeous interior, which according to their website pays homage to the history of the Canadian capital.
“Inspired by humble beginnings, we turn back the clock to the city's origin, to evoke a sense of place we explore Ottawa's former incarnation, Bytown and its booming Ottawa River timber trade," reads a blurb on the restaurant’s site.
"The idea of workmanship, things being hand made, age-old values like craftsmanship, artistry and skill spills out in the construction and detail of the furniture.”
Truthfully, they had us at the promise of pizza and cocktails.
If you and bae are on a budget, don’t worry. There’s not a single item on the menu that exceeds $18, with most items hovering around the $12-$14 range.
Those prices are even more shocking when you see how bougie some of the menu items are.
Take, for example, the Pizza Esagerata. That comes topped with dry-cured old-world bacon, calabrese, wild mushroom, artichoke, asparagus, and bell pepper.
Or the Taste of Italy salad which features mélange of octopus, shrimp, calamari, clams, mussels, fennel, cracked black pepper, parsley, and lemon balsamic.
And don’t even get us started on how gorgeous the cocktails are. You’ll find classics like sidecars and mojitos and more elevated drinks like the Ginger Snap Bellini or the Violet Beauregard.
Of course, there’s also wine, beer, and delicious espresso beverages as well.
So whether you’re planning to surprise bae or want to go for after-work drinks with your besties, Prova is the spot to check out.
