If you're like us, these last couple of months has often left us feeling like we want to comfort eat our weight in sweet treats. Well, if you're in the eastern end of Toronto, boy, have we got some good news for you. Krispy Kreme is coming to Scarborough this summer.\nIn all honestly, we donut think we can wait for this.\nThe wildly popular U.S. donuts and coffee chain teased the sweet, sweet news on Friday, May 22.\nIn an Instagram post, it shared a photo of a banner reading "Summer 2020," alongside the caption: "A little reason to smile this Friday morning."\nThe location was tagged as Scarborough, and a similar tweet from the chain confirmed this.\nCurrently, specific details are unavailable, including the store's exact location and when it is likely to open for business.\nBut the Krispy Kreme Canada website seems to suggest it will be located somewhere on Kingston Road, which runs from Toronto's Queen Street East out to Whitby.\nAnd a Toronto police officer was apparently tipped off well in advance, tweeting back in November that it will be found at Kingston Road and Lawrence, around five minutes' drive from U of T Scarborough.\nNarcity reached out to Krispy Kreme Canada for more information.\nView this post on Instagram A little reason to smile this Friday morning 🙂 #doyouknowwherethisis #goodnewsfriday #doughnutnews A post shared by Krispy Kreme Canada (@krispykremecan) on May 22, 2020 at 8:13am PDT\nThe chain's site also has job postings currently up for the Scarborough store, including Assistant Managers.\nIn replies to excited customers on social media, Krispy Kreme Canada hinted at some more details of the new store.\nWhile it noted that it cannot provide an official opening date yet, the company did clarify that the new location will be a factory store. So that means freshly-made donuts. What a result.\nPlease forgive us if our eyes glaze over while thinking about this. Particularly with those new summer options already available.\nThis new Scarborough store is the latest step in Krispy Kreme's Canadian comeback.\nThe chain already has four stores or cafes in Toronto, but its most popular location seems to be the factory store in Mississauga.\nBack in late March, that Heartlands Town Centre shop hit headlines for the massive lineup of cars waiting to get their sugar fix at the drive-thru.\nSo this is great news for donut fans in the eastern areas of the GTA.\nGetting your hands on a sweet fresh-made dozen no longer requires a day trip from the 905 to the 416.\nHoley moly.
