I heard this place was so beautiful you can’t stop taking photos but the quality of their brunch was far from what I expected. . Of course I was not doubting it would serve good food, but let’s be honest: when we think about a hyped place where people go to take beautiful photos you start to suspect it’s only worthy for the photos . Hubby and I had this incredible Sunday brunch with a couple of friends and the four of us were amazed. We all ordered the brunch special, which includes a brunch item + drip coffee + sparkling juice + kouign-amann for $29. You can upgrade your juice to a mimosa or caesar for $6 more. . I chose the steak tartare, which was seasoned to perfection. Seriously, I can’t remember a tartare so well seasoned in a long time. It was so fresh and delicious that I couldn’t believe the fries would surprise me. Yet they did. I would say it’s one of the best I had in Toronto (I can’t decide though if it was better than Barcelona Tavern ones) . Cris, my husband, ordered Eggs Benedict (as usual) and loved it. He described it as a simpler but tasty version of the traditional one. The eggs were between poached and sunny side fried. . About the kouign-amann, I loved it because it’s kind of a sweet bread. If you’re not new to my IG you probably already know I’m a savoury-dish person and this was a nice surprise because it’s like having some sweet in the breakfast but not too sweet (I know, I can’t describe it, lol). Let’s say it reminds me of a sweeter croissant. . I have to say, it was one of the best brunches we had in Toronto so far. If you’re planning to go there I advise you to reserve it in advance because it’s a small place. Just to give you an idea, we had to reserve it two weeks before.
