When you think of Vancouver food, what comes to mind? There's a place serving mouthwatering Spanish tapas that just got named as one of the top new spots in the country. The best new restaurants in Canada according to a highly anticipated list from Enroute magazine, were announced on Wednesday, October 23. If you're a Vancouver foodie, you've probably already heard the buzz about ¿CóMO? Taperia in Mount Pleasant or you've been there for yourself. It's a unique dining experience in Vancouver where you're encouraged to share food, stand at the bar eating snacks and rubbing elbows with strangers who are just one tapas dish away from being your friend. While Vancouver might be famous for guzzling California rolls and miso soup like it's going out of style, it's amazing to see the city perform on the national level when it comes to incredible new restaurants. Enroute magazine by Air Canada had 35 restaurants in the running across the country for the title of Canada's Best New Restaurants of 2019. Both Vancouver restaurants ¿CóMO? Taperia and Ugly Dumpling were long-listed. The top ten include three restaurants from B.C. in total. View this post on Instagram The view from table 302! The magic of all the little spaces and different experiences that can be had in our little tapas bar 🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸 All the time we spent in Barcelona & Madrid hanging out in tapas bars (very hard work 😓 🤪) inspired all the different areas. From “posting up” at the tapas bar, taking over a corner on one of our communal bars, watching the madness at the kitchen counter, or enjoying dinner at a table with your crew. We also have our “big booth” at the back for parties. Remember we do take reservations every evening for a number of groups, and the rest of the room is walk in friendly 🚶🏻♂️🚶🏻♀️👍🏼 📸 @marlonx A post shared by ¿CóMO? Taperia (@comotaperia) on Jul 27, 2019 at 8:28am PDT The restaurant has a hectic but exciting atmosphere and totally makes you feel like you're in a tapas bar in Spain. You can hang out in the vibrant stand-up bar area or grab a few seats with friends and munch on tapas and treats directly from Spain that are hard to find anywhere else in Vancouver.
