All it took to find out about one of the best Thai restaurants in Canada was for Chrissy Teigen to come to Vancouver. Yes, you read that correctly. Last spring, the famous American model visited Vancouver alongside her husband, John Legend, who played Rogers Arena. As soon as Vancouver-native Seth Rogen found out about this, he tweeted her his restaurant recommendations. Among them was the multiple award-winning, Maenam.\nMaenam is an upscale and highly-inventive Thai restaurant in the heart of Kitsilano. The innovative menu pairs family-style cuisine with high-end delicacies inspired by all things Thailand, including, and especially, their street-food. The stellar menu includes an 8 Spice Ling Cod served in a sugar-tamarind sauce, an incredible pad thai (that also comes in vegetarian), and Dungeness crab and coconut on thin wafers. There's no wonder that they've won Vancouver Magazine's "Best Thai" award from 2009 - 2016 as well as "Restuarant of the Year".\n@yummybites604embedded via\n@joeymanaligodembedded via\nFor those worrying about not getting their daily alcohol intake, Maenam has a large selection of wines as well as a creative cocktail list. Their menu includes a chili-infused tequila, passionfruit, and butterscotch drink, as well as a bourbon, watermelon, mint, and bitters, drink to live for.\n@joeymanaligodembedded via\nMaenam has an elegant dining room that's suitable for couples, medium-sized groups and everything in-between. They have a great lunch menu and also do take-out. There's no shortage of eating opportunities here...\n@joeymanaligodembedded via\n@sincerelyloeweembedded via\nThe restaurant shares the same block as Kitsilano staples Rain or Shine and Zulu Records. Therefore, one may think it's easy to find, but it's quaintly nestled amongst the businesses. You could literally just walk by this total gem. So, you may need to search it out and peer through the window to truly see how intimate, classy, and downright delicious this place is.\n@monkeyeatsworldembedded via\nMaenam-fan, and uber talented entity, Seth Rogen spent a large portion of his life in Vancouver. He went to school here (Point Grey Secondary, and Vancouver Talmud Torah). He met his business partner here. And most importantly, his family is here. So, it's good to see him return and seek out some of the best restaurants the city has to offer. But it's even better that he likes sharing them with us. Thanks, Seth!\n@sethrogenembedded via\n@joeymanaligodembedded via\nYou can find out much more about Maenam, as well as find out how to make a reservation, on their website found here.
