The good news for fans of the CBC sitcom is that a brand new season is about to premiere that will bring back the family we know and love. Unfortunately, this one will be the last but it did an incredible job at putting Canadian television series on the map and earned itself tons of praise and accolades. Here are eight Canadian shows on Netflix Canada to watch between episodes of Schitt's Creek. 

Kim's Convenience

Rating: 8.0/10 on IMDb

This sitcom first premiered on CBC in 2016 and is currently on its third season which you can binge-watch all of on Netflix. It's filmed in Toronto and follows a Korean-Canadian family who owns a convenience store and gets into hilarious adventures. 

Anne with an E

Rating: 8.6/10 on IMDb

Based on the novel Anne of Green Gables, this drama filmed over southern Ontario has two seasons on Netflix with a third one coming soon. It follows Anne Shirley, a young orphan adopted by a family who originally wanted a boy but her charm wins them over into making her a part of their home. 

Murdoch Mysteries 

Rating: 8.1/10 on IMDb

Currently in its thirteenth season, the first 12 are available to watch on the streaming platform. The series began in 2008 and is filmed in tons of Canadian cities including Toronto, Kingston, Ottawa, and St. John's. It has featured famous faces too including Stephen Harper, William Shatner, and even the Family Channel's Michael Seater and Ashley Leggat. 

Trailer Park Boys

Rating: 8.4/10 on IMDb

Set in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, there are 12 seasons of this hilarious show following the shenanigans of a group of people living in a trailer park. It will satisfy your desire for laugh out loud comedy fun.

Mr. D

Rating: 6.5/10 on IMDb

Stand up comedy fans need to check out this sitcom that comes from the hilarious Scarborough born Gerry Dee. He plays a social studies teacher who's totally unqualified for his job but fakes it until he makes it in a school full of misadventures. You'll also see Canadian comedians Darrin Rose and Mark Forward. 

Workin' Moms

Rating: 7.4/10 on IMDb

This sitcom features quite a few sneak peeks of Toronto where it's filmed as it follows a group of moms trying to navigate motherhood with new babies. There are three seasons so far and a fourth is coming this winter featuring the hilarious comedy of a female-led Canadian cast. 

Baroness Von Sketch Show

Rating: 5.7/10 on IMDb

You can watch three seasons of this slightly raunchy sketch comedy series from CBC. Every episode is different but has a consistent all-female cast starring Carolyn Taylor, Meredith MacNeill, Aurora Browne and Jennifer Whalen.

Degrassi Next Class

Rating: 7.0/10 on IMDb

Set in Toronto, the students attend Degrassi Community School and are in the same universe at the preceding four series in the Degrassi franchise. Though it ended in 2017, there are four seasons available to watch and enjoy.
