One of the most iconic movies from my childhood is coming to the big screen early in 2019 and I can't even! Bring It On is almost 20 years old at this point. For many of us, it was an integral part of growing up and a great movie to watch for sleepover parties. This movie was practically required watching, whether you caught it on cable TV or rented the VHS from Blockbuster.

Kristen Dunst plays lovable Torrance, a peppy and naive cheerleader at the illustrious Rancho Carne High School in Southern California. Torrance leads her team to compete in the national cheerleading championship and face off against the talented and creative East Compton Clovers team.

This glossy teen comedy is also a story of American classism and the 'haves' versus the 'have-nots'. The cheerleaders at Rancho Carne Toros are wealthy and the East Compton Clovers were from an inner-city school. Although Bring It On has its cheesy moments, it really holds up as both a comedy and a commentary on cultural appropriation.

Bring It On has so many zingers, witty phrases and catchy cheers that really captured the zeitgeist of the late '90s and early '00s. You can relive the memories this January at Cineplex in their VIP cinemas.

Going to a VIP movie is a totally different experience than your usual movie night. Firstly, you have to be at least 18 or 19 years old depending on the province to go so there's no opportunity for chatty kids to ruin one of your favourite childhood movies. Plus, you can order drinks and food right in the theatre. So, instead of rushing to finish your meal and run to the theatre for showtime, you can relax and indulge in a sophisticated movie-going experience.
