As February comes to a close, the month of March brings so much to look forward to—including new shows and movies. As far as streaming services go, it looks like Dare Me on Netflix is going to be the perfect chilling series to binge this spring.

Earlier today, Netflix released its official lineup for March, which is full of shows and movies from almost every genre. Of course, a few stand out above the others and Dare Me is one that you’ll want to take note of.

The teen drama is based on a novel by Megan Abbott, and according to the IMDb synopsis, it follows a high school senior on the cheerleading squad who spends her time plotting revenge against a clique of girls that kicked her out of their group.

Principle cast members include Willa Fitzgerald (Scream), Herizen F. Guardiola (The Get Down), Marlo Kelly (Home and Away), Rob Heaps (Imposters), Zach Roerig (The Vampire Diaries), and Paul Fitzgerald (Helena from the Wedding).

Many of the actors hail from far off countries like Australia and England but Dare Me also includes some Canadian talent. Alison Thornton (Let It Snow), Taveeta Symanowicz (October Faction), and Addyson Douglas (The Next Step) all hail from the Great White North.

What makes the series even cooler is that according to IMDb, it was filmed right here in Canada—in Ontario, to be exact.

A Reddit thread from 2019 lists some filming locations where the cast and crew had been spotted as Mississauga’s Dairy Cream, as well as the Port Credit Lighthouse.

Earlier this year, Netflix released a docu-series called Cheer, following the lives of a group of collegiate cheerleaders, so the concept of Dare Me isn’t entirely foreign to the streaming service. What sets this new show apart though, is that it has so much chilling drama, much like Pretty Little Liars.

Dare Me is coming to Netflix on March 20. You can check out the trailer for the 10-episode series below.
