The Disney+ launch basically took over the internet yesterday and for a pretty good reason. Subscribers now have unlimited access to content from their childhood and it's such an exciting time. Twitter overflowed with people sharing what they were most excited to watch first and throughout the day, different Disney shows trended based on what people were talking about. So it probably comes as no surprise that the Disney Plus launch racked up 10 million subscribers and 3 million app downloads in the first day.

The streaming service launched in the early morning of November 12 in Canada, the US, and the Netherlands.

Canadian users were a little disappointed to find a severe glitch that wouldn't let them watch any content, but it quickly got smoothed out and business resumed as usual.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Walt Disney Company projected that by the year 2024, Disney+ will accumulate between 60 and 90 million subscribers.

Although that's about five years ahead, it seems Disney will have absolutely no problem hitting that target considering they already did a huge chunk of it in only one day.

The internet was prepared, and Millennials had their credit card info handy because really, they are who the streaming service was made for. 

That includes this user who wrote, "If you didn’t call in to work today to binge Disney+ are you even a millennial #DisneyPlus". 

And according to Variety, the app that Disney created for Androids and iPhones was downloaded 3.2 million times following its release yesterday. 

There are so many ways to stream Disney+ including on Apple TV, the Roku stick, and even on Amazon Fire TV.

Disney put forth quite a few marketing tactics which helped increase subscribers to the platform. The Hollywood Reporter stated that they offered a free one-year subscription to Verizon customers in the US, fan club members discounts, and even a Hulu and ESPN bundle.

Twitter users are pretty happy about the bundles, including this user with a classic Spongebob meme. 

Unfortunately, they also wrote that "Going forward, Disney said that it would not provide subscriber updates about Disney+ outside of its quarterly earnings call."

So you'll just have to take the word of subscribers that it's so worth signing up for. 

One Twitter user even wrote that she signed up for three years of Disney+ which is a pretty big commitment, but we're here for it.

Disney+ already impressed Canadian subscribers and is some people's new favourite streaming platform. 

On November 19, Disney+ will roll out in Puerto Rico, New Zealand, and Australia, and will launch in Europe and the UK on March 31.
