Jumanji: The Next Level

The sequel in the modern Jumanji franchise used quite a bit of production locations. IMDb notes that Georgia, New Mexico, Hawaii, and Alberta were key filming spots. The Cinemaholic adds that mountains in Calgary and Kananaskis located in Alberta's Rockies were both used to "provide the snow-capped peaks required for filming". 

The Revenant 

Canada was the main filming location for this snowy adventure flick. The Cinemaholic writes that Bow Valley, Morley Indian Reserve, and the Badlands of Drumheller aka “Dinosaur Valley” were all used in production. IMDb adds that Canmore, Calgary, Kananaskis Country, and Drumheller were also key locations. 


This 2006 classic was almost entirely filmed on Canadian land, per IMDb. Areas in Alberta include Kananaskis Country, Rainier, Lethbridge, and Milk River. Plus British Columbia cities including Vancouver, Chilliwack, and Mt. Seymour Provincial Park in North Vancouver also hosted the star-studded cast for the production. 

Brokeback Mountain

According to Movie Locations, this early 2000s drama was produced in both Alberta and New Mexico. They claim "it was filmed largely in the Canadian Rockies", as well as "Kananaskis Range around Canmore", Railway Avenue, and Rockyford Village among tons of other hotspots. 


Back in the late 70s, Alberta was used in production on this classic film. Movie Maps writes that a farm off of Range Road 264 was used to represent the Kent Farm, and Beynon Hillside stood in the for the Smallville Cemetery. Movie Locations adds that Clark Kent’s childhood home was filmed in a Calgary house. 


With over two dozen filming locations, the stars of Inception once called Canada home while production took place. That includes Fortress Mountain ski resort in Kananaskis, per Movie Locations


You can catch so many Alberta spots in this sci-fi flick. Movie Maps notes that Longview School in Longview was used to stand in for the school while Seaman Stadium in Okotoks was used as the baseball field. Whitemans Pond in Canmore stood in for the Road to Space Research Center, paired with Goat Creek Parking Lot as the Space Research Center gate.
