Jim Carrey is a national treasure. He's a comedian, actor, screenwriter, philanthropist and shape-shifter all in one, hailing from the small town of Burlington, Ontario.

He's come a long way since he first started out in Hollywood. He's starred in several cult classic films, including Ace Ventura: Pet DetectiveDumb and Dumber, The Mask and Bruce Almighty. He received a BAFTA Award for best actor in a leading role in the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. He even received an honorary doctorate degree from Maharishi University for his achievements in the fine arts.

Needless to say, Jim Carrey is representing for Canadians across the country and making them extremely proud, even if everyone else seems to think he's gone crazy (No, he's not crazy. He's just "woke", as the kids say).

What's even more likeable about him is that he's always been an openly proud Canadian. Even in his early stand-up days, Jim Carrey would always somehow incorporate his Canadian heritage into his routine.

One of the most memorable moments where he gave a shout out to Canada was during his stand-up special Unnatural Act in 1991, where he basically summed up Canadian stereotypes in two minutes. He began his joke by introducing himself as Canadian to the audience:

"I grew up in Canada... Is there anybody here from Canada? You know, I used to get really upset when I told people where I came from down in Los Angeles because I always got the same response: 'Canada? Wow. Must have been cold.' Now I just go along with them..."

He then proceeds to make references to northern stereotypes with quite possibly the most epic two-minute anecdote about Canada ever:

"Yes. Ca-na-da. It was a frozen hostile wasteland. And there was much work to be done if we were to survive the elements. After boring a hole through the ice to find food, my good friend Nantuk and I would build an igloo to protect ourselves from polar bears and flying hockey pucks. Then we would drink a lot of beer and when Nantuk was ready, he would tell me the story of the great moose who said to the little squirrel: 'Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!'"
