Kamala Khan, also known as Ms.Marvel, is Captain Marvel's counterpart in the comics. She was created by G.Willow Wilson, Adrian Alphona, Sana Amanat, and Stephen Wacker. Mindy Kaling admitted to discussing the potential of bringing Kamala Khan to the big screen with Marvel in a recent MTV interview:

“I think the people I’ve spoken to at Marvel about it are so excited about the character and I think that they’re trying to figure out what to do with it, and I told them I would help in any way because I truly love her. They really seemed interested, and I think they will probably do something. Now that there’s like this streaming platform with them, it might be something like that, but I think they understand how much excitement there is.”

After fans of the superhero exploded their excitement all over Twitter, Mindy clarified her involvement with Marvel and the superhero on twitter. You can view the tweet below.

Although Mindy Kaling burst fans bubble Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios, made some comments about a potential Kamala Khan series that helped build the hope back up in fans:

“Ms. Marvel, which is another character in the comic books, the Muslim hero who is inspired by Captain Marvel, is definitely sort of in the works. We have plans for that once we’ve introduced Captain Marvel to the world.”
