Thankfully for fans who have run out of new superhero content to binge, there is a new Netflix series that is set to arrive on the platform next year. Judging by the amount of praise it's received after releasing a short trailer, it's clear this one is definitely a series you won't want to miss out on.

The Netflix series in question is called The Umbrella Academy and it's based on a comic book series by Gerard Way that consists of three issues running from 2007 until this year after a decade-long hiatus.

The series that will first be released by Netflix is expected to follow the storyline of the first series released back in 2007. It follows the lives of seven children with supernatural powers who are adopted by a billionaire. From there, they are raised by their adoptive father to protect the world from evil and known as the Umbrella Academy.

Unfortunately, the children eventually become estranged and move on from their lives but after their adoptive father suddenly passes, the children come back together. Judging from the trailer, things are set to get pretty intense from there:

When it comes to a dysfunctional group of superheroes we can't help but think about iconic titles such as Deadpool 2 and Avengers: Civil War. While the series will definitely have big shoes to fill, fans are already deeming the show a future hit by the trailer alone:

Luckily for Netflix users who are already dying to find out what happens to the family of superheroes, they won't have to wait too long to see it for themselves. The series is set to release on Netflix Canada early next year with a scheduled February 15th release date, so get ready to add it to your binge-list!
