If you're like me, you're probably scouring Netflix for all things horror because its fall next week and fall means Halloween. Netflix released potentially their scariest horror series yet called Marianne. It's so scary they even warned viewers not to watch the french series alone. They were 100% right, it's definitely a show that'll leave you sleeping with the light on for a few nights. They even fittingly released the series on Friday the 13th, that in itself speaks for its scariness. If you loved Marianne on Netflix Canada check out these shows that'll also give you a fright.\nIf you haven't watched Marianne, it's an international show from France that follows a successful writer who is disturbed to find out that the novel series she wrote is actually being carried out in real life. She's then drawn back to her home town with her assistant where things take a turn for the worst. It's, to me, one of the best things you can watch to get in the spooky season mood. Just remember... don't watch it alone.\nThe Haunting of Hill House\nRating: 92% on Rotten Tomatoes\nThe Haunting of Hill House was last year's Halloween horror and it's still just as scary now. It follows a family of seven that moves into an old abandoned house that the parents intend to refurbish. The show starts off with a dreary night where the children witness the death of their mother, the show then flashes between the present and past telling us the story of what happened.\nA season 2 of The Haunting of Hill House is currently in production!\nType Writer\nRating: 60% on Rotten Tomatoes\nTypewriter is also an international horror series on Netflix. Although it is categorized as horror, it's much campier. The show takes the childhood innocence similar to Stranger Things and mixes it with eerie hauntings.\nIt follows three children in Mumbai who set out to uncover the mystery behind an abandoned house that has been inhabited again after thirty years. Things get real creepy.\nChilling Adventures of Sabrina\nRating: 82% on Rotten Tomatoes\nThe Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, while not exactly horror, is definitely still scary. Some would even say "chilling." Their depiction of the devil and the aftermaths of dark magic will give you a spook.\nThe Chilling Adventure of Sabrina follows teenage Sabrina who is approaching her dark baptism and must choose between staying human or becoming full witch.\nBlack Mirror\nRating: 83% on Rotten Tomatoes\nBlack Mirror is a show that doesn't follow one plot. Every episode has different characters and a different storyline. It shows us the possible after-effects of advancing technology. Some episodes focus more on the sci-fi genre but a lot of episodes are downright horror, gore and all.\nThe fifth season of the English show is now streaming on Netflix Canada!\nBates Motel\nRating: 93% on Rotten Tomatoes\nAlthough Bates Motel wrapped up it's final season last year, it's worth the watch. It's a prequel to the well-known horror movie Psycho. It follows Norman Bates opening up a hotel with his mother, Norma Bates, following the death of his father.\nSlasher\nRating: 6.7/10 on IMDb\nSlasher is exactly what it sounds like, a masked murderer slashing people. Netflix's synopsis for the show reads, "Rampaging serial killers leave carnage in their wake as their next victims fight to stay alive in this horror anthology series." If you're someone who loves the Friday the 13th movies this show is definitely for you.\nSlasher currently has 3 seasons streaming on Netflix Canada!
