This 2018 Filipino film just hit the streaming platform this month and is already making waves. Viewers were so scared after watching the movie that they were afraid to sleep with the lights out. If you don't mind subtitles this supernatural thriller is a must-watch. 

Netflix's summary for Eerie is, "When a student's suicide rattles an all-girls Catholic school, a clairvoyant guidance counselor leans on a ghost to uncover the convent's abusive past."


Rating: 6.5/10 on IMDB 

Typewriter is also new to Netflix Canada this month and is basically Eerie but in show form. It's a 5 part series that takes place in India. Reviews for the show were also filled with terrified people so if you're into horror Netflix is DELIVERING this month.

The series is about three kids in Goa who constantly find themselves getting into trouble. Deciding to become ghost hunters they investigate an old estate that just gained some new inhabitants. With their interference the homes dark past resurfaces. 

While the show is originally in a foreign language there is the option to watch it either with subtitles or dubbed in English. 

One Day at a Time

Rating: 98% on Rotten Tomatoes 

One Day at a Time is perfect if you're just looking for some feel-good comedy. The Alvarez family will take you through their over the top hilarious everyday life that'll make you cry and laugh all at the same time. Their 20-minute episodes also make this show a quick watch! 

The show follows a Cuban family consisting of a single retired veteran raising her two children and taking care of her elderly mother. 

The Family

Rating: N/A

If you're a documentary lover this new mini-series that just hit Netflix is perfect for you. According to Netflix, The Family is about, "An enigmatic conservative Christian group known as the Family wields enormous influence in Washington, D.C., in pursuit of its global ambitions."

The Haunting of Hill House

Rating: 8.7/10 on IMDB 

If you haven't watched The Haunting of Hill House yet, now is your chance. The creepy Netflix Original was released last year and remains as one of Netflix's highest-grossing series. There's also a lot of news coming out about season 2 every week so now is the perfect time to catch up on season 1!

The Haunting of Hill House seems like your classic horror plotline with a family that moves into an old abandoned mansion, but the show takes turns that are so unexpected. You'll be at the edge of your seat the entire time! 

Murder Mystery 

Rating: 6/10 on IMDB 

This is for all the Adam Sandler fans in the house. Some of you may know about the five movie deal Netflix made with Sandler, this is the newest movie to come out of it! 

Murder Mystery is a modern comedic twist on the original movie Clue. When a husband and wife (Sandler and Jennifer Aniston) meet a wealthy man on vacation they get taken back to a Yacht where they find themselves being framed for murder. 

Schitt's Creek 

Rating: 90% on Rotten Tomatoes 

This Canadian comedy has been making waves in the awards industry this last couple of months and it's definitely well deserved. The newest and final season of Schitt's Creek airs this fall so nows the time to binge away! 

Produced, created by, and starred in by Eugene and Dan Levy, Schitt's Creek follows a wealthy family gone bankrupt. The Roses are forced to move to a town named Schitt's Creek the only asset left that they own. 

The Perfection 

Rating: 73% on Rotten Tomatoes 

When The Perfection first hit Netflix people were so impacted by its goriness they had to take the day off work! If gore and blood and twisting plotlines are your thing, then so is The Perfection

Netflix's synopsis for The Perfection reads, "In this twisty horror-thriller, a once-promising music prodigy reconnects with her former mentors, only to find them taken with a talented new pupil."
