If we're going to choose a decade with the best TV shows, the '90s wins hands down.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Boy Meets World, Saved By The Bell, Full House, Rugrats, Dexter's Laboratory - need we say more?

If you were a kid back then, you'll definitely remember all of those, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. The 90's hit had 7 seasons spanning a whopping seven years, and now it's coming back to our TV screens.

On Friday, Netflix announced the casting for an upcoming original series, currently known as the Untitled Sabrina Project. But this won't be a simple reboot of the '90s classic we know and love.

The series is based on the Archie Comics graphic novel, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and will have a more sinister twist than the original family-friendly sitcom.

While it does centre on the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, expect a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult, and, of course, witchcraft. Essentially, the new show will act as a companion to Riverdale.

Netflix's character description for the teenage witch is as follows: "An empowered young woman, half-human, half-witch, Sabrina is just beginning her dark education as a sorceress, even as she tries to maintain a normal life as a sophomore at Baxter High. Intelligent, compassionate and brave to the point of recklessness, Sabrina is all that stands between us and the forces of darkness that threaten our world.

According to the press release, Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) will play the titular character.

No word yet on who will play Hilda and Zelda.
