The verdict is in! These Netflix movies are blowing up on the streaming platform and many Twitter users recommend them to anyone in need of a good watch. Murder mystery, comedy, and action are in store.

For most of the spring, we were cooped up inside and turned to our good old pal Netflix for some entertainment.

Hopefully, you haven't burned through your must-watch list yet, but if you're looking for new content to add, you can trust what other Canadians are talking about.

If you'd rather turn to the critics, there are loads of movies on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+ that got such high ratings, you can count on them to impress.

But if you just want to see what everyone else is dipping their toes into, these six movies are all trending for very good reason. They'll keep you distracted and entertained for hours on end.

Life of the Party

This classic comedy stars Melissa McCarthy as a mother whose husband leaves her and decides to put her focus on revamping her life instead of feeling down in the dumps. She goes back to school and ends up in the same classes as her daughter, who isn't too happy about the strange situation. It's totally topping the charts in second place overall on Netflix Canada and first place in the top movies that Canadians love right now.

Spenser Confidential

Currently in fifth place on the top movies in the True North, the comedy stars Mark Wahlberg as an ex-cop who just got released from prison. Though he gave up his old career, he gets roped back into the lifestyle when a mysterious murder pops up in his town. There's even a fire cameo from Post Malone.

The Occupant

Rating: 6.3/10 on IMDb

This brand new drama-thriller probably shouldn't be watched alone. When a man sells his apartment, he realizes he still has a set of keys to get in and strangely decides to use them to obsess over the new family living in his old home. It's currently in fourth place overall on Netflix Canada.

6 Underground

Rating: 36% on Rotten Tomatoes

Vancouver's sweetheart Ryan Reynolds stars in this action flick as a leader of a pack of individuals with the skills to continue life after death. That paired with other abilities to delete their past takes them on an action-packed adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The Platform

Rating: 84% on Rotten Tomatoes

This sci-fi horror flick is winning over the charts! Currently third overall in the Great White North and second in top movies, it follows what just might be your worst nightmare. The quest to get to the top is battled by the fear of having his thoughts exposed, which gets him sent down another level.
