The CW's dark and modern update on the classic Archie comics isn't going anywhere. Riverdale season 5 is actually happening and although we're not surprised, we're beyond excited. While the fourth season is returning on Wednesday, January 22 — we can rest easy after every twist ending, safe in the knowledge that we'll get another season to explain all the cliffhangers. Part of what makes a show like Riverdale so exciting is knowing that it's filmed here in Canada. A ton of the shooting for the show happens in and around Vancouver. You can even visit the diner where they filmed the pilot. Plus, it's not uncommon to spot one of the stars out at local restaurants and cafes in Vancouver. CW actually announced that it would be renewing 13 of their current shows for another season including: All American Batwoman Black Lightning Charmed DC's Legends of Tomorrow Dynasty The Flash In The Dark Legacies Nancy Drew Roswell, New Mexico Supergirl Half of the shows are filmed in Vancouver, like Nancy Drew, so this is good news for star-spotters and the local film industry. The Arrowverse shows including Batwoman, The Flash, Supergirl, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow are also all filmed in Vancouver.
