It's Official, Robert Pattinson Will Be 'The Batman'
The movie will be released in June of 2021.
When you think of Batman, you likely think of a mysterious man - someone tall, dark and handsome who cannot only fight crime, but also sweep any woman off of her feet in the bat of an eye - which is why everyone has been BEYOND confused since it was announced that Robert Pattinson was in talks to play Batman in the upcoming movie. Upon hearing the news, a lot of people thought it was some sort of joke, but they were wrong - Robert Pattinson has officially been cast as The Batman.
The announcement came this morning, May 31st. Although many details about the film have been kept on the down low for now, we do know that pre-production is set to start this summer, and a release date for the film has already been announced to the public - June 25th, 2021.
In the past, Batman has been played by actors like Ben Affleck, George Clooney, and Christian Bale, which is why the decision to cast Robert Pattinson in the intense and macho role has come as a shock to so many people. To be fair though, he did do a really good job with the role of Edward Cullen, even though Twilight is ridiculously cheesy.
After the Twilight saga came to an end, Pattinson worked on a few other projects here and there (Remember Me, Water for Elephants, etc.), but The Batman is arguably his biggest project as of late.
Apart from just saving Gotham City, Pattinson currently has plenty of other projects on the go. He's starring in Christopher Nolan's movie Tenet, which is set to open in 2020, and will also be seen in High Life, The King, and Waiting for the Barbarians.
Whether Pattinson will do his character justice or not, we can't say for sure. We do know one thing though - the movie's going to be interesting, and that could either be good or VERY, very bad.
