If you're already a fan after the first season of this British teen comedy, then you've probably been waiting for the second season's release date for a while. The show already got incredible reception and was renewed only a month after its launch. Mark your calendars because the second installment of Sex Education on Netflix Canada will premiere in January.

The Netflix UK Twitter account announced the date this morning and said it's on January 17, 2020.

They also followed the announcement with a photo of Connor Swindells snapping a selfie in front of a painted mural of the cast, which features the premiere date on the bottom.

So if you've been eagerly awaiting season two, then you officially have less than two months to wait for the next chapter in the life of Otis Milburn (played by Asa Butterfield).

For those who aren't familiar with Sex Education, it's a comedy-drama about Milburn's character who is a socially awkward teen.

His mother, Dr. Jean Milburn (Gillian Anderson) is a sex therapist.

Of course, Milburn's mother is brutally honest about sex, and when she approaches him about his own habits, he is less than happy about the encounter.

But he decides to use his knowledge about sexuality to open up a business offering sex advice to his teenage classmates.

He's joined by his best friend Eric Effiong (Ncuti Gatwa) and befriends Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey) while battling his bully Adam Groff (Connor Swindells).

There's no official trailer for the second installment yet, but Netflix released a teaser in February.

Sex Education has already gained quite a few fans after just eight episodes in season one.

All sorts of people on Twitter have shared how much they love the show including this user who wrote, "I am loving #Netflix’s Sex Education. Wish I got to put on condoms and label a vagina in my #sexed class. None of that in Canada in the 80s! Great music and of course loving @GillianA. Highly Recommend!"

Another person recently tweeted, "Sex Education was the best thing to ever happen to Netflix".

This user just got news of more episodes to come and wrote, "Sex Education back on Netflix in Jan? Damn, gonna have to sign up again. Such a good show."

According to Digital Spy, three new characters will be introduced.

The first is played by Sami Outalbali as a "French student named Rahim". George Robinson will play Isaac, a student who moves in the caravan park that Maeve lives in. Lastly, we'll meet Chinenye Ezeudu who plays Viv, a "multi-talented academic student."
