One Of Ted Bundy’s Victims Is Responding to Netflix’s ‘Extremely Wicked’ And What She Said Will Shock You
She's speaking up.
If you have a Netflix account, chances are you've seen either Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes or Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. If you haven't, then you're missing out on some of the most talked about content on Netflix. Like anything, it's not being talked about in the best way. However, that's not the case for all. One of Ted Bundy's victims is responding to Netflix's new movie.
She's not opening up about The Ted Bundy Tapes, but rather the new Netflix movie Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. This movie has gotten a ton of mixed reviews, and it has since the trailer came out. It stars Zac Efron and Lily Collins and the reason people were so hesitant to watch it is because they assumed it would "glorify" the situation.
Extremely Wicked is a totally different type of Ted Bundy movie. It actually doesn't glorify the serial killer in any way, but it shows his girlfriends side of the story at the time and tells it from her point of view. And one of Ted Bundy's victims, Kathy Kleiner Rubin, is saying she appreciated this.
In an interview with TMZ, Kathy reveals that she liked that the new Netflix movie doesn't show any gore or that it's not necessarily a horror film. Kathy was attacked by Ted Bundy back in 1978 and he left her at a Florida State University's Chi Omega house. She says that if people want to go see a horror movie, then they should. This is done from the "psyche of Bundy", and if you've seen the movie, then you probably will agree.
Extremely Wicked shows a ton of things. From Ted Bundy falling in love with girlfriend Liz Kendall to his various arrests to his multiple escapes from jail. What it doesn't show more than once? His murders. The only time you see Bundy hurt one of his victims is at the very end of the movie, and the way they did it was very appropriate.
Kathy's response to the movie will shock you because she's actually defending the movie. Kathy told TMZ that if the younger generation wants to know about Ted Bundy, they should read about him. She says, "We know what he did and for the younger generation who don't know what he did, they should read about him. It lets you use your imagination as far as what he was doing to the women. And the blood and gore didn't need to be there in this setting."
Kathy went on to say that she thought the movie was "very well done" and that Netflix did a great job of representing the victims. Kathy herself is a victim that survived Ted Bundy's actions. If you want to hear more about what Kathy has to say, you can view the interview below.
