You'll want to keep the lights on for this series! The Woods on Netflix is a brand new creepy binge-watch that's dropping so soon. It comes from Harlan Coben, creator of The Stranger, so you know it will be just as gripping.\nThe mystery drama series was adapted by Netflix Poland and is based on Coben's novel of the same name.\nAccording to Deadline, the plot follows Paweł Kopiński, a Warsaw prosecutor who lost his sister 25 years ago after she went missing while at summer camp. The girl vanished alongside another boy and their disappearances were originally declared a homicide.\nHowever, years later the boy is found and so is evidence that links their disappearances to each other.\n"As hope rises that his sister could still be alive, dangerous secrets from his family's past threaten to tear apart everything that Paweł has been trying to hold together," Deadline writes.\nThe show is set in two different time frames – 1994 when Paweł's sister first vanished and in the present time 2019.\nIMDb claims that the cast of Polish actors includes Grzegorz Damięcki will play Paweł, with Hubert Milkowski playing his younger self. Wiktoria Filus and Agnieszka Grochowska play young and old Laura Goldsztajn, a childhood friend of Paweł.\nIn the creepy trailer that was posted last month, Paweł says, "The camp I was junior instructor at ended tragically. Four kids entered the woods and never returned. Two bodies were found shortly after. The other two bodies were never found. One of them was my sister's."\nHe ends the video stating, "I want to know what happened in those woods."\nNetflix | YouTube\nThis is Coben's fourth Netflix series that was adapted from one of his novels. The most recent show The Stranger premiered earlier this year and follows a strange woman who approaches a man and tells him a shocking secret about his wife.\nCoben's first adaption, The Five, premiered in 2016 and is set 20 years after a five-year-old boy goes missing. When his DNA is found at the crime scene of a woman's murder, his family and the police are completely baffled.\nSafe dropped in 2018 and follows a widowed surgeon whose teenage daughter goes missing, forcing him to uncover dark secrets about those around him.\nWhen speaking with Variety, Coben told them that all of his series on Netflix are "sort of like a novel. Each episode is like a chapter, you have cliffhangers, and you don’t want to put it down. Some people may take a week or two to finish it, some people will take a day."\nHe added, "If you tell me you watched episodes one and two and you can wait a week to watch three and four, that’s a little disappointing. I hope that the story gives you that kind of hunger."\nThe Woods premieres on Netflix on June 12. You can watch the trailer below.
