Greta Gerwig’s new film Lady Bird is a witty and intimate portrayal of teenagehood, motherhood and everything in between. It also just broke Rotten Tomatoes biggest record.

The dramedy, which stars Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones) and Laurie Metcalf (Scream 2), is about a lower middle-class high schooler and her mother coming to terms with each other as graduation nears. It's such a hit that it's found itself at 175 fresh reviews and counting - the longest run of positive reviews ever recorded by the movie website.

It's so good, in fact, that it's knocked Toy Story 2 out of the number one spot. The animated crowd-pleaser previously held the title before Lady Bird earned its 164th consecutive positive review on Monday.

The dramedy is not Rotten Tomatoes top movie of all time, but no film with a perfect score ahead of Lady Bird has ever received as many positive reviews. The site's other perfectly-reviewed films are Citizen Kane, Singin' in the Rain and North by Northwest. So yeah, that's definitely saying something.

“We put our heart and souls into this movie, and the last step of this deeply collaborative art form of filmmaking is giving the film to the audience and the film critics,” Lady Bird writer and director Greta Gerwig told Rotten Tomatoes. “That there has been such a warm reception is a dream come true. Thank you to everyone who has seen the film and has written about it so thoughtfully. We are all on cloud nine and using our tomato emoji more than we ever thought possible.”

Lady Bird is still in theatres, so if you haven't seen it yet, you probably should.
