When it comes to watching Netflix, all of us have very diverse tastes. Some people like to sit down and binge true-crime shows, like the new Ted Bundy docu-series, while others prefer more comedic and light-hearted options like Sex Education. Whatever your preference may be, you have to admit - sometimes happy movies are exactly what you need to boost your mood. Luckily, Netflix Canada has a new film coming out, and not only is it heartwarming, but it's also based on a true story!

The film is called The Boy Who Harnessed The Windand it's based on the book that tells the true story of William Kamkwamba. It takes place in Malawi, a country in southeastern Africa. In Malawi, a drought is taking place, making it impossible to grow any crops - because of this, William and the people of his village are experiencing a famine.

William is a very bright young man, but unfortunately, his family doesn't have the money for him to continue going to school. He is forced to stay at home with his family, and work on the farm all day so that they might possibly grow some food. Despite his father's protests, William finds a way to harness the wind so that all the people in his village might grow some crops.

The story on its own is enough to make you smile, but when you realize that it's based on a true story, it becomes even more important. The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind will be available on Netflix as of March 1st. If you want to watch the trailer, you can check it out here:
