The 2017 movie adaptation of Stephen King's It featured a Toronto mansion in the Pape and Riverdale area. Back in 2016, CTV News reported that filming of the horror movie was taking place at the mansion. Located at 450 Pape Ave., it's protected by the Ontario Heritage Act as a historical landmark so it will always be around for you to visit.
La Belle Mansion
The Rose family in Schitt's Creek started off the series as a fortune filled family living in an actual palace. The outside shot is another home, but insideLa Belle Mansion located at 30 Fifeshire Road. Some amenities David and Alexis grew up with include 14 bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, and a home theatre in the 24,000-square-foot mansion valued at nearly $22 million.
The historic house museum located at 1 Austin Terrace is open every day from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for you to visit. According to Movie Maps, Casa Loma has been used in nearly two dozen movies including The Vow, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, X-Men, The Pacifier, and Billy Madison.
68 The Bridle Path
The 1995 classic flick It Takes Two starring the Olsen twins was actually filmed in quite a few. That includes a mansion at 68 The Bridle Path in North York. The mansion stood in as the home where one of the twins lived with her wealthy father. It's valued at $35 million and sized at 28,000-square-feet with 10 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, and an indoor pool that turns into a ballroom.
11 High Point Road
Remember when we were all in awe at Regina George's palace in Mean Girls? The 2004 flick was filmed entirely in Toronto including the George family mansion located at 11 High Point Road in North York. Movie Maps claims that only the exterior of the mansion was used for production, including when they roll up to it in Regina's convertible.
25 Park Lane Circle
The Putnam residence in The Handmaid's Tale is filmed at another palace in North York. Toronto Life writes that 25 Park Lane Circle is located "in the tony Bridle Path neighbourhood" and has been used in multiple seasons of the series. The show has been and the fourth season is currently underway.
