Here's Everything We Know About Season 3 Of '13 Reasons Why'
We finally got a release date!
There were protests and petitions against Netflix for streaming this show on their service, but the platform is pushing forward with yet another season. 13 Reasons Why will be coming back for a season 3 later this year. While there isn't much information out about what the new season will focus on, fans are wondering, when does season 3 of 13 Reasons Why come out?
Besides the air date of the new season, there are a few things that will be different from previous seasons and speculation about what the new season will uncover. Here's everything we DO know about season 3.
Although the teen drama was renewed for a third season right after their second season premiered on Netflix, no release date was announced till now. The release date, or more accurately month, was most likely accidentally released by an actor in the show. Zack Prusack who plays the character, Jock, tweeted that season 3 would be coming in October 2019!
Hannah Baker Is No More
This may be the biggest change in the show EVER. Hannah Baker, played by Katherine Langford, will not be in the show anymore. The show revolved around Hannah in season one when she left a puzzle of messages on tapes after tragically taking her life. Katherine announced her departure right after season 2 aired and the show was renewed for a season 3.
On Instagram, she wrote, “Hannah...I love you...and I let you go.’ Those are the words I was able to say six months ago, and now can finally share with you as my journey on [13 Reasons Why] has officially come to an end.”
More Controversial Topics
The show has never been scared to veer into uncharted territory with their controversial topics; suicide, sexual assault, mass shootings, and this season won't be any different. Season 2 left off with Chloe finding out she was pregnant, and the actress who plays Chloe, Anne Winters, has said that abortion will be a topic for her storyline.
Season 3 Will Pickup Where Season 2 Ended
While this is just speculation, it seems like the only logical way to starts off season 3. If you watched the last season you know that the character Tyler Down attempted to perform a mass shooting at their high school prom, but was caught and arrested by police. Season 2 should deal with the aftermath of his decision and his journey with mental health.
