It’s now been a few weeks since You season three was announced, but fans are still riding the high of the news about the show’s renewal. Earlier this year, the show’s official Instagram page announced that the next season will be coming in 2021, and according to showrunner Sera Gamble, production has already begun.

On Friday, February 7, Gamble took to her Twitter page to share a fun message with fans. She posted a photo of a doormat that reads, “Hello You” and wrote “We’ve started work on season 3. Just thought you’d want to know. #YouNetflix.”

Season two of the hit series came to the streaming service on December 26, and after some intense binging sessions, fans were practically begging for an update on the twisted lives of soon-to-be parents, Joe and Love.

Luckily, Joe Goldberg himself (better known as Penn Badgley) unofficially confirmed that a third season would be coming to Netflix shortly after the most recent season’s premiere. The streaming platform also officially confirmed the exciting news just a few weeks later.

The thriller series is based on the novels You and Hidden Bodies by author Caroline Kepnes. According to EW, Kepnes is currently finishing up the third book in the series, although it’s unknown exactly how closely season three will follow it.

Season two of You ended on a cliff-hanger, leaving fans with plenty of unanswered questions and giving them room to come up with some seriously mind-boggling theories.

After watching last season’s finale, some fans think that Joe’s latest obsession could be his mother (played by Canadian actress Magda Apanowicz) and there’s some pretty substantial evidence to back up this theory.

It’s only February, so we’ve got a long while to go before season three hits Netflix, but knowing that production has begun is already getting us excited to see what’s in store for Love and Joe.
