Presented by\nFor most of us, Wednesday (aka hump day) isn't the most thrilling evening of the week. But for Vancouver's bartenders, this Wednesday is a different story.\nIt's no secret that many bartenders find it difficult to stay in shape while dealing with their late-night lifestyle. Long hours and busy shifts can make exercising and eating healthy nearly impossible, and in the city, local bartenders face these challenges every day. Bartender Boxing Organization and Tequila Cazadores are looking to change that.\nBartender Boxing Organization presents Bar Spar, sponsored by Tequila Cazadores, which is a program that aims to improve the lives of bartenders by promoting health and well-being in the industry through the sport of boxing.\nCazadores is a premium tequila that punches above its weight, which is why they’re encouraging local bartenders to do the same through boxing with #nocheapshots.\nMark Tomaras\nThe rigorous training program allows Vancouver bartenders to go on an epic journey for 90 days, focusing on how they eat, drink, sleep, work, and most importantly, train. Then, on the final night, they give up their mixologist title to fight as trained boxers, with the winner claiming hometown bragging rights.\nFor the first time ever, you get to watch Bar Spar happen in Vancouver. On Wednesday, Oct. 30, local bartenders will step out from behind the bar and into the ring for a unique, can't-miss event.\nBy choosing to be a part of this program, these bartenders are taking pride in themselves, their peers, and proudly representing their city — much like how Tequila Cazadores takes pride in delivering smooth taste at a reasonable price, making for a great cocktail each time!\nMark Tomaras\nTo cheer on your local bartender, head to the Venue Night Club (881 Granville St.) on Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. You can attend this free event on a first-come, first-served basis.\nIf you can't make it to the match, keep the spirit going at home and make this low-calorie Hermosa Paloma cocktail featuring Tequila Cazadores instead:\n1 part Tequila Cazadores blanco\n1/4 part St-Germain\n1/4 fresh lime juice\n3 parts sparkling water\nTequila Cazadores\nCombine all the ingredients, except the sparkling water, in a mixing glass with ice and stir. Pour into a highball glass over fresh ice. Top with the sparkling water, garnish with two cucumber slices, and enjoy!\nNo cheap shots here. Tequila Cazadores has been making their 100% agave tequila in Los Altos de Jalisco using the same recipe for almost 100 years.\nBartender Boxing Organization x Tequila Cazadores Bar Spar\nPrice: Free (get there early!)\nWhen: Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.\nAddress: Venue Night Club, 881 Granville St., Vancouver, BC V6Z 1K7\nWhy You Need To Go: To watch local bartenders duke it out and show off all their hard work and rigorous training!\n\n \n \n \n \n \n Mark Tomaras\nTo learn more about the match, visit the Bar Spar website.
