Chad Michael Murray Just Clapped Back At Sophia Bush After She Said She Never Wanted To Marry Him
The shade is real.
One Tree Hill was a show that defined being a teenager too so many people. It had relationship drama, family drama, and dealt with the pressures that come with growing up.
Back in the early days of the shows nine seasons, actors Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush, who played Lucas Scott and Brooke Davis, ended up getting together. They started dating when the show began filming in 2003, got engaged a year later in 2004, and proceeded to get married in 2005 before calling it off after five months together.
Earlier this week Bush was on Andy Cohen's radio show when she shared that she felt pressured into marrying Murray, even though she didn't want to. At the time, Bush was only 22-years old and Murray was 23-years old.
Bush explained why she married him anyway saying, "how do you let everybody down? And how do you, what’s the fight? And when you have bosses telling you that you’re the only person who gets a person to work on time and 200 people either get to either see their kids at night or they don’t because our days start on time?"
The actress also explained that she and Hilarie Burton, who played Peyton Sawyer on OTH, used to joke about the off-screen drama. She said, "If we had a behind-the-scenes show, the drama would be so much fucking better than the drama that the writers write."
It seems as though Murray was not happy with Bush's comments and had his rep make a statement to People. He's calling what Bush said "ludicrous" and that after 13 years he's moved on.
"Chad conducts himself in a completely professional manner and would never marry for any reason but love. Thirteen years since his divorce from Sophia, he has a very happy family life with his wife and children. He has completely moved on and doesn’t feel the need to engage in this type of behaviour," said the statement.
It seems like Murray really wants everyone to know that he's remarried, while Bush remains single. That being said, we're waiting to see if Bush will get the final word on this decade-old feud.
