Demi Lovato Completely Deleted Her Twitter After Other Artists Called Her Out For This
During the Super Bowl, Demi Lovato shared a meme about 21 Savage, but fans and other artists didn't think it was funny.
You read that right: Demi Lovato is completely gone from Twitter. She deleted her account yesterday after some serious drama during the Super Bowl that was way WAY more interesting than the game itself. Demi drew fire from other artists for posting a meme about rapper 21 Savage's arrest this weekend. U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement took the British citizen into custody and began deportation proceedings.
In a since-deleted tweet (because it's ALL gone), Demi wrote: "So far 21 savage memes have been my favorite part of the Super Bowl. *shrug emoji*" It prompted other artists to call Demi out either directly or indirectly. Wale clapped back HARD tweeting: "Why is somebody freedom funny...I don't get the joke." Offset went with a fiery subtweet: "ALL THE MEMES AND SHIT AIN'T FUNNY WHEN SOMEBODY GOING THROUGH SOME."
And, because the Super Bowl was boring AF, the internet saw the mounting drama and jumped right on it. Demi tried to explain she wasn't laughing at 21 Savage's situation both on Twitter and Instagram Stories, but many fans weren't having it. Users flooded Demi's Instagram comments with not-so-subtle shade about her struggles with drug addiction.
Clearly hurt (and understandably so), Demi shared screenshots of some of the comments on her Instagram Stories. Before signing off for the night, she wrote: "Sorry if I offended anyone. But it's no excuse to laugh at someone's addiction let alone their OD." As per usual, the internet took things way too far.
